Linda Wilder (SFCA)
"The simplest things capture my attention; the way light bounces off the water and rocks in a stream, the contrast of snow against the warm underbrush, creating abstracted forms.....it all sparks an emotional cord." - Linda Wilder

From a young age, Linda Wilder’s curiosity sparked creativity. As a Military Child, Linda travelled extensively across Canada. She eventually settled in Western Canada where her childhood dreams became reality and she began her formal education in fine art. Linda attended Red Deer College (Art & Design) and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Calgary. She has enjoyed workshops with many acclaimed artists.
Linda signature painting technique employs a bold use of colour, and impasto. Linda works with a variety of tools and mediums but she is most well-known for her creative use of the palette-knife. At first glance, her work appears highly representational but upon closer look, you will see that her compositions are achieved through loose, gestural brushwork and a palette knife application that is truly original.
Linda is a prolific artists who finds joy in all types of painting. Whether the challenge of a commission, a prolific large-scale work, or a smaller nuanced canvas, Linda always responds with passion and intuition.
Linda is represented in Canada By Mountain Galleries (Banff, Jasper, Whistler, Stratford.) She is collected in both private homes and corporate collections at home and abroad.

"Linda has taken the time this past season to step back and develop a series of elegant small works,
themes that she has been developing for the past several years - experimenting with
tone, shape , colour and texture . This series is powerful , thoughtful and demonstates tremendous skill
for work that is intuitive and executed with tremendous energy." - Wendy Wacko - Director / Founder Mountain Galleries
