TED GRIFFITHS

This award-winning, Alberta born artist has been teaching art in the secondary school system in Alberta and British Columbia for the past 22 years. Ted has also taught numerous courses in stone sculpture in and around Edmonton, Alberta and at the Naramata Center in British Columbia.Ted emphasizes volume in his work and each piece of stone sculpture communicates both the warmth and beauty of the stone and the strength and power of the grizzly bear. Thus the harmony of both the animal and the stone are paramount in Ted’s work. Each piece is a labour of love, requiring hours of hand finishing and polishing before Ted is satisfied with the result. Ted’s work has been shown in many galleries and exhibitions including the ‘Treasures of the Earth Exhibit’ at the Alberta Provincial Museum
